Sunrise on Sea Parkrun

Join the Parkrun movement. A Free 5km timed walk/run every Saturday from Murambi Rose Cafe on the East Coast.

Parkrun takes place at 8am, and open to all fitness levels. Grab a post Parkrun coffee and breakfast at Murambi Rose Cafe.

INKWENKWEZI PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
Situated within a short, 10minute drive from Balugha River Estate, Inkwenkwezi Private Game Reserve is one of its own class Big Five Private Game Reserves with an emphasis on luxury and thoughtful detail.

Well known for its elephant interaction, and un-parallel wildlife viewing experiences. Inkwenkwezi is a popular attraction for tourists, and locals looking for an experience with nature.

Just under an hours drive away from Balugha River Estate, Mpongo holds a treasure chest of African wildlife, beauty, rugged terrain and untouched land and offers accommodation, game drives, conference facilities and more.

Areena Riverside Resort

EXPERIENCE NATURE
Just up the road from Balugha River Estate adventure continuous at Areena Riverside Resort. Enjoy weekend camping, Quad Bike rides, Horse Riding adventures and Game Viewing. Spectacular trails will lead you to spot a variety of game including giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, eland, blesbuck, impala, nyala, fallow deer, waterbuck, duiker, bushbuck and ostrich.

Tea in the trees is situated on the Cintsa West corner. Enjoy a variety of delicious breakfasts, lazy lunches and decadent teas in beautiful coastal forest surrounding.

Open on Saturday and Sundays from 9am – 2pm. Family market on the first and last Sundays of the month

Olivewood Golf Estate

Test your skills on the Olivewood 18-hole championship golf course.

The course celebrates Eastern Cape’s rolling hills, meadows and deep, forested gullies. From its highest point, the fairways meander down to the river plain and tidal lagoon. Enjoy the tranquility of the route back up the hill to the 18th hole and their magnificent clubhouse.

Fishing

Fishermen are spoilt for variety at various secluded fishing spots and easy access to the beach. Commonly caught species within the area include; Natal Stumpnose, Galjoen, Shad, Kob as well Spotted Grunter.

Our sources confirm that catches are frequent within the area, due to secluded spots available for residents to enjoy.

A fresh catch gives you the perfect opportunity to light a fire, enjoy a cold beverage and watch the sunset over the river.

River and Beach

GLENGARRIFF BEACH
Residents enjoy direct access points to the river and beach. Only a short walk from the Estate, Glengarriff Beach is situated along the exquisite Wild Coast of South Africa. The beach is fairly untouched, situated away from overcrowded tourists and remains breath-takingly beautiful.

GLEN EDEN BEACH
